‘Poisoning Children’s Minds’

“A few years ago, my preschool daughter decided to dress up as a Native princess for Halloween. As far as I know, my family has no Native ancestry. But she wanted to dress up in a “beautiful” costume, and a Native princess was the most beautiful thing she could imagine. 

“Her teacher sent her home with instructions to change her costume because it was “offensive”.

“This left her baffled.

“I think it’s beautiful,” she said.

‘No More Peter Pan?’


Here’s where ‘Reconciliation’ becomes just another word for cultural bullying. At some point, there has to be a limit to aboriginal ‘sensitivities’. After all, ‘tolerance’ — like ‘reconciliation’ — is a TWO-way street:

‘More Logo Bullying’


“An ‘indigenous’ {‘Siberian settler’} parent appeared before the ‘Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario’ on Monday, alleging that the city of Mississauga, Ont., discriminated against him by allowing “racist” names and logos of minor league teams in local arenas.

“Brad Gallant’s children played organized hockey at city-run rinks in Mississauga, where he said banners and trophies bearing the logos of teams like the ‘Mississauga Braves’ and the ‘Lorne Park Ojibwa’ created

“a hostile environment.”

‘It’s That Time Of Year Again’


Once again, aboriginal activists  are using Hallowe’en costumes as an excuse to attack other Canadians:

“Halloween is usually a time of fun for the whole family but Native groups in Montreal are upset over costumes that they are calling ‘racist’. Some protesters have taken to protesting the outfits by placing stickers reading “We’re Not Costumes” on them in Halloween stores.

“Jessica Deer (@Kanhehsiio), a member of the ‘Kahnawake {The racist, Segregationist Mohawk reserve} Youth Forum’, was arrested on Friday for placing the stickers.

“The police told us either we had to pay for everything that was damaged or face charges for vandalism or mischief”, she said, adding that she was forced to buy more than $1,500 worth of costumes.

“Forget Halloween costumes and yoga, there’s a new symbol of cultural appropriation—the canoe.

“According to Misao Dean, ‘Professor of English’ at the University of Victoria {of course}, the canoe can be a symbol of ‘colonialism’, ‘imperialism’ and ‘genocide’ due to history. ‘The ‘Indigenization’ and ‘Racialization’ of Canadian Universities’

“There’s a new {racial} buzzword rolling off the tongues of Canada’s university administrators: ‘indigenization’. 

“Campuses are looking for new ways to welcome aboriginal students, recruit aboriginal faculty members and embed ‘indigenous’ content in the curriculum. Some schools are even requiring all students — no matter what their specialization — to take at least one ‘indigenous’ studies course before they graduate.

“These opportunists encourage a culture of opposition – to virtually any government attempt to improve aboriginal conditions – on the basis of entitlement for past injustices.

‘Who owns culture?’


“Scholarship cannot thrive if limits are placed on who can investigate the past, or if lines of investigation are shut down. The Western traditions for the production and disposition of knowledge…are the best way to research history and culture.” ERBLWhoOwnsCulture800x800“In America, Canada, Australasia and even parts of Europe, since the 1990s ‘indigenous’ people have been granted extensive control over art and artefacts in museums. Museum policies mandate the active involvement of ‘source communities’…in decisions about exhibitions, research and the care of objects.

“An unfortunate elision is made between someone’s ethnicity and their authority to speak definitively about cultural artefacts, which excludes those who do not share that ethnicity, despite their expertise.
